The mission

Mambo · dance

One map for every salsa floor.
← Pick your city

Landing in a new city and trying to find where to dance salsa is a scavenger hunt. You dig through Instagram hashtags, half-dead calendars, a Facebook group you had to request to join, and a friend-of-a-friend's DM — just to answer one question: where do I dance tonight?

We built MAMBO because we're the ones doing that digging. We're salsa dancers. Every trip, every new city, the same beast: a dozen accounts just to find one floor. So we map every salsa social, mambo night and class into one place, city by city. Open your city, see what's on tonight and this week, and go dance.

Why this one is different

Plenty of people have tried to build the salsa calendar before us, and most hit the same wall: it runs on submissions. Organizers are busy running dance floors, not filling out forms — so the calendar goes stale and everyone drifts back to Instagram.

We fixed that by not asking. We pull events from where they're already being posted — the organizer's own Instagram — so nobody has to keep a second calendar. You keep organizing; we'll see your event. Wrong detail, or you'd rather not be listed? One message and we fix it or take it down.

A few things that help us catch your event

Since we read what you post, a little best practice goes a long way. Put the real details — date, time, and venue — in the Instagram caption, or spelled out clearly in text on the flyer. A beautiful Reel is great advertising, but if the what, when and where live only inside the video, they're easy to miss — so put them in the post text, too.

Who this is really for

We're not trying to be everything. Locals usually know their own scene cold, and MAMBO isn't here to replace that. This is for the traveling dancer — the person who lands somewhere new and just wants to find the floor. (And in a giant scene like New York, maybe we save you a few clicks.) The point was never the list. The point is getting one more person out to dance.

Run a night, class, or studio?

Tell us you exist. We'll get you listed and pull your events in.

Why we actually care

We — and Oliver Pineda, ten-time world salsa champion — believe that if more people salsa danced, the world would be a better place. Not as a slogan. Dance is connection, movement, and a way out of your own head for a few hours a week. That's the heart of the Pineda Method: wellness through salsa — the confidence, the fitness, and the sense of belonging that come from putting the phone down and dancing with real people. MAMBO is our small part of it — we just get you to the floor, and let the dance do the rest.

The goal is the whole world

Not one scene. Not one country. Every salsa social on the planet, on one map. A traveler should be able to land anywhere on Earth and instantly know where the dancing is. A local should never miss a night again — no more finding out Monday that the thing was Saturday. More cities, steadily, until there aren't any left: anyone, anywhere, can open MAMBO and find a salsa class or social any night of the week. That's the whole idea of mambo.dance.

Built to outlast us

MAMBO isn't a business waiting for an exit. The long-term plan is to hand MAMBO to an organization that will maintain it forever, funded to keep running on its own — so it stays a free service for the salsa community, for as long as salsa events are posted on Instagram.
